About the Role: Actuarial Valuation Expert

We seek an experienced Actuary or professional with expertise in the insurance industry to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor the valuation and validation of insurance liabilities under Solvency II and IFRS17 for ERGO Group insurance companies.
  • Evaluate the appropriateness of models and methods used, along with assumptions made for insurance liability valuation, ensuring sufficiency and quality of data employed.
  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of L&H insurance liabilities valuation and related IT solutions (e.g., Prophet).
  • Conduct independent reviews (insurance liabilities valuation and validation, reinsurance arrangements, underwriting policy including ESG risks, local actuarial governance).
  • Contribute to the Group Actuarial Function's annual report, supporting Segment Actuarial Function on adequacy of reserves level, reliability and appropriateness of insurance liabilities valuation, overall underwriting policy, reinsurance arrangements, and actuarial governance.
  • Handle special tasks and ad-hoc requests, also in project and working groups, and coordinate valuation changes process regarding insurance liabilities (IFRS17 and Solvency II).
Requirements
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Degree in Mathematics, Economics, or Business Administration with a focus on finance or comparable education.
  • Willingness to travel abroad (twice per quarter, 2/3 days).
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the insurance industry in risk management, actuarial, statistics, ALM, or related fields.
  • IFRS17 knowledge is desirable.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance, strong analytical skills, ability to work independently, high level of commitment, and competence in providing very good communication skills and a strong team spirit.
  • Ideal candidates possess completed actuarial professional education with extensive knowledge of valuation models for insurance liabilities and activities of the actuarial function of a primary insurer (Solvency II Directive, Delegated Regulation, and Guidelines on the valuation of technical provisions).
