Marine Engineering Approval Specialist

RINA is seeking a skilled professional to support the development of detailed marine engineering plans and reviews for new and existing vessels. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in machinery and related systems design and compliance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations.



Key Responsibilities


  • Review and approve drawings of machinery and related systems for compliance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients during the design and construction phase to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Provide support for the elaboration of detailed marine engineering plan reviews.
  • Resolve issues related to conflicting design requirements and material standards.
  • Oversee project elements, conduct site visits, and gather data as required.
  • Prepare project deliverables, including technical reports and engineering drawings.
  • Manage financial aspects of assigned tasks and provide feedback to project managers.
  • Apply project management concepts and techniques to manage assigned projects.
  • Assess minor structural problems and provide solutions.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering and construction personnel.


Requirements


  • Degree in Naval Engineering, Marine Engineering, or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of related work experience, with previous experience from other IACS Societies being an advantage.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Strong organizational skills, including time and resource planning.
  • Ability to follow established systems and procedures.
