About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Software Delivery Program Manager to join our team at Hitachi Energy Services.

This is a pivotal position that requires a strategic thinker who can drive execution excellence of R&D programs, optimizing time to innovation for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong talent for development of collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams, holding teams accountable to meet agreed commercial milestones and program delivery objectives.

  • Cultivate clear, transparent stakeholder communication and critical path management
  • Conduct ongoing program assessment for continuous improvement
  • Anticipate and mitigate program risks; drive timely decision-making
  • Provide timely, transparent notification and escalation of issues
  • Manage budget and funding effectively
  • Enforce processes (including proper planning)

Daily Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, R&D leadership & teams, finance, and other stakeholders to define scope, deliverables, assumptions, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing
  • Track and evaluate program and program increment performance, producing regular program reports for management and stakeholders
  • Define program sub-projects and complete monthly reporting in time tracking and finance tools
  • Maintain a risk register, anticipating, prioritizing, and driving the mitigation of program risks
  • Provide weekly communications on progress to critical issue resolution for project escalations with clear actions for 'path to green'
  • Audit release plans for feasibility, clarity of expectations & assumptions and organization in Jira; audit processes for quality of execution
  • Cross-train program contributors, ensuring standards processes are upheld
  • Facilitate gate process for gate program assignments
  • Organize and facilitate Release Management Team (RMT) meetings or Program Management Team meetings
  • Collaborate with other project managers to implement common standards, perform peer review (gate assessments), and identify risks and opportunities across programs

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or engineering
  • Formal project management, AGILE or SAFe training
  • 8+ years in a project or program management role in software development & commercial delivery
  • Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, financial budgeting, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders/teams & hold them accountable to agreed timelines
  • Outstanding working knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes
  • PMI certification (or willing to obtain within one year of hire)
  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) preferred

The estimated salary for this role is $140,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on your experience and qualifications.
