About Our Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior VAT Director to lead our VAT compliance efforts across the EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities
  • VAT Compliance Leadership: Oversee and manage VAT compliance processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions of VAT returns and related filings.
  • VAT Advisory Support: Provide expert guidance to the business on transactions, new ventures, and restructurings, ensuring VAT optimisation and compliance.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance VAT processes and implement tax-efficient strategies.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Stay up-to-date with changes in VAT laws and regulations across various jurisdictions within the region.
  • Audit Management: Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities, managing VAT audits and disputes as necessary.
  • Talent Development: Provide training and guidance to internal teams on VAT-related matters.
  • Risk Assessment: Assist in the development and implementation of VAT risk assessments and mitigating strategies.
  • Digital Transformation: Support the preparation of VAT automation and digitalization projects.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in VAT management, with a focus on the EMEA region.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of VAT laws, regulations, and compliance requirements in key EMEA jurisdictions.
  • Cross-Border Expertise: Strong understanding of cross-border VAT issues, including intra-community supplies, imports/exports, and e-commerce.
  • Qualifications: Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA) are highly desirable.
  • Skills: Proven experience in dealing with VAT audits and disputes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
