Overview Director of Software Engineering role at Verisk. Responsibilities Lead, manage, and grow multiple software development teams, ensuring delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality applications. Own the budget, resourcing, and roadmap planning for development teams, aligning with organizational priorities. Oversee end-to-end software development lifecycle, including architecture, coding standards, testing, deployment, and production support. Partner with product, data, and business stakeholders to define and execute technology strategies that deliver measurable business impact. Drive adoption of engineering best practices, DevOps, and agile/Scrum methodologies across teams. Mentor, coach, and develop engineering leaders and individual contributors to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Stay ahead of emerging trends in cloud, AI, and software engineering to introduce innovative solutions. Qualifications Extensive progressive software engineering experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles. Expertise in Microsoft technologies (.NET, C#, SQL Server, NoSQL) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). Proven success in system design, microservices, APIs, distributed computing, and DevOps/CI/CD. Strong track record managing multi-team operations: resource planning, budgeting, and performance. Strategic leader with hands-on technical credibility, business acumen, and global team experience.
