Job Purpose
Your role as a Assistant Procurement Manager 1UL Europe is to create top and bottom-line growth and value for 'One Unilever'.
Next to this, the role involves business engagement with functions like R&D, Marketing, Finance, SC, Global Portfolio, BG Procurement and suppliers.
Exceptional communication skills, stakeholder management, bias for action, influencing, strategy development, business acumen and project management skills are key elements for successful delivery in this role.
What Will Your Main Responsibilities Be
This is a new role within the newly created 1UL Europe Procurement team
(1UL markets are smaller countries or markets within Unilever that benefit from a singular channel or customer focus, and have one P&L target in a country, with actuals reported by Business Group (BG)).
The main responsibilities include cross-BG procurement activities for finished goods, as well as raw and packaging materials.
- Driving and delivering Procurement relevant actions under the 1UL strategy and key activities like innovation management, forecast engagement, sustainability, whilst constantly looking for value creation through 5S, ASA/AMA projects, Complexity Reduction and ensuring superior availability via Resilience program for Innovation material.
- Ensure early Procurement & Supplier involvement in European innovations and 1UL supply chain projects – acts as a core team member in cross-functional team to ensure OTIF delivery
- Ownership of the new materials quotations and input into business cases
- Support portfolio buyers and P&I/PMOs with 1UL factories material procurement projects (e.g. Network optimization, ASA/AMA)
- Identify in year and longer-term material saving opportunities and delivery; secure resources for material cost saving projects
- Ensure CAPEX requirements for moulds visibility and align with cluster SC functions
- Ensure that projects are agreed with our suppliers, aligned with our joint business development plans and supported by the 1UL business
- Build strong global Procurement networks to deliver fast and brilliant saving / innovation projects
- Liaison with PaaS teams (direct materials and external manufactures) to establish successful Ways of Working, understand and support the strategic plan and drive best practices across the business
What You Need To Succeed
Experience & Qualifications:
Procurement Skills
- Project management skills for cost savings/innovation (including network planning, risk assessment)
- Strategy development and implementation (e.g. translating business objectives into actionable procurement strategies and roadmaps)
- Finance skills (P&L understanding) to be able to provide input on material inflation and communicate impacts to innovation projects
- Supply Market Intelligence and Analysis (e.g. establish understanding of portfolios and suppliers)
- Managing Alliances and Relationships (e.g. managing the Ongoing Relationship to Deliver Value to the Business)
- Executing sustainability roadmaps together with portfolio teams
- Negotiation with suppliers
Cross Supply Chain Skills
- Adopting a Customer Service Mindset in all our Relationships
- Implementing Supply Chain Improvements projects, program
- Project management skills
Experience You Should Have
- Experience in Procurement (at least 1 - 2 years)
- Experience on change management projects
