This role is within the EDS segment, and you will be joining that segment as it becomes its own entity, with a rich heritage and proven track record as a global leader in low and high voltage power and signal distribution systems. Your role

The Program Buyer acts as the primary interface between SCM and other functions, ensuring all direct material-related activities are executed within the Program Development Process. This role is responsible for timely delivery of SCM program deliverables, cost transparency, and capacity confirmation for purchased components. Additionally, the Program Buyer supports supplier strategy implementation and coordinates purchasing processes in compliance with SCM standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate all purchasing activities for new program launches, ensuring flawless execution and supplier performance (SPDP).
• Provide ongoing program support during its lifetime, including data maintenance and tracking of new parts.
• Analyze material content in program BOMs and define recovery plans when needed.
• Drive YoY material cost reduction through initiatives like VA/VE, material usage optimization, and commercial link & leverage.
• Develop best material cost options and manage purchasing aspects of engineering changes to support profitability.
• Support new program wins by identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Communicate and implement customer requirements within SCM.
• Participate in project team meetings from the earliest design concept stage and ensure SCM process compliance.
• Handle RFQ, supplier selection, development letters with Category Buyer, Quality, and Engineering.

Your background:

• Cost understanding and capability for cost analytics
• Team player with interpersonal skills
• Discipline and accurate/structured working style
• Good Knowledge on MS Office
• Communication Skills (Aptiv internal & external)
• Fluent English as a must
• experience min 1 year in SCM
