For our procurement department, we are currently looking for a Category Buyer, who will be responsible for the EMEA region.

As a Category Buyer for Forgings & Castings, you will be instrumental in shaping our global procurement strategy, driving cost optimization, and fostering strong supplier relationships within KION's international network.

Your Responsibility
Zakres obowiązków i wymagania:

• Develop and implement global purchasing strategies for assigned sub-categories, in close collaboration with the Global Lead.
• Analyze existing supplier structures and drive their strategic evolution to meet future global demands.
• Define and execute negotiation targets and strategies for significant cost reductions and take full ownership of target achievement.
• Lead independent negotiations with suppliers for long-term contracts, pricing agreements and technical savings initiatives.
• Identify and implement technical savings initiatives in cooperation with Engineering/R&D.
• Manage and develop relationships with global strategic suppliers within the Forgings & Castings categories.
• Negotiate and finalize long-term framework and supply agreements.
• Prepare and manage high-value award packages.
• Coordinate award proposals with internal stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Logistics) and present to KION Top Management.
• Oversee the entire tender process, from invitation to tender through negotiation to contract conclusion.
• Foster regular exchange and coordination with global plant purchasing teams and key stakeholders.
• Identify and leverage purchasing synergy potential across all European KION plants for Forgings & Castings.
• Consolidate global purchasing volumes and lead central negotiations with suppliers worldwide to maximize leverage.
• Actively contribute to KION's sustainability strategy within the procurement function.
• Regularly evaluate suppliers and awards based on ESG criteria.
• Collaborate with suppliers on measures to reduce our collective CO2 footprint and enhance sustainable practices.

Your Skills And Expertise

• Experience in the procurement of Forging & Casting
• Bachelor's degree minimum in Business or Engineering and experience of 5+ years' as a Category Buyer in Material Handling, Construction, Agriculture, Automotive Tier 1, or similarly demanding environment.
• Strategic thinking in the day-to-day decision making.
• Strong negotiation skills. Capable of leading negotiations for strategic supply contracts. Ability to develop and understand legal contracts.
• Good understanding of product cost breakdowns and experience in methods for TCO management, based on product cost analysis and cost engineering.
• Able to read and understand technical drawings and specifications. Good understanding of manufacturing processes and industry quality standards for industrial parts – appreciated.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communicator and presenter at key stakeholders / top executive level.
• Flexibility to travel within Europe, also at short notice.
• Very good English
