Andersen is hiring a BI Analyst in Germany to support a major public-sector data initiative, modernizing reporting and transforming legacy systems into scalable, secure analytics solutions.

The customer is a large international technology provider delivering end-to-end digital solutions for enterprise-level organizations. The company focuses on IT consulting, cloud services, cybersecurity, and managed operations, supporting clients across various industries with complex digital transformation needs. With decades of experience, the customer emphasizes innovation, reliability, and high security standards.

The project is a large-scale BI and data-analytics initiative in the European public sector, focused on modernizing government services through centralized reporting and data-driven decision-making. The role contributes to the transformation of legacy data systems into secure, scalable analytics solutions supporting digital public administration.

Responsibilities

• Gathering, analyzing and documenting business requirements for reporting, analytics and KPIs.
• Developing dashboards, reports and visualizations in BI platforms to support decision-making.
• Translating business needs into clear data specifications and reporting logic.
• Validating and interpreting data, identifying trends, anomalies and actionable insights.
• Collaborating with BI Developers, Data Engineers and business teams to ensure alignment of data models and reporting outputs.
• Conducting data quality analysis and supporting the resolution of inconsistencies across data sources.
• Preparing data definitions, documentation, data dictionaries and analytical models.
• Supporting testing and validation of new BI features, reports and ETL updates.
• Presenting insights, findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and structured manner.
• Monitoring report performance and continuously improving dashboards and data workflows.

Requirements

• Experience as a BI Analyst or Data Analyst in enterprise environments for 5+ years.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate business questions into data-driven insights.
• Advanced SQL proficiency for querying, joining, aggregating and validating data.
• Hands-on experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker or similar).
• Ability to design dashboards, KPIs, metrics and visualization models that meet business needs.
• Understanding of data modelling concepts (star schema, snowflake, fact/dimension structures).
• Experience working with DWH/Data Lake environments and multiple data sources.
• Ability to define reporting requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and data specifications.
• Experience performing data quality checks, profiling and root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and collaboration with data engineers.
• Strong communication skills for working with stakeholders, gathering requirements and presenting insights.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.
• Level of German – from Intermediate+ and above.
