Junior Actuarial Consultant

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic actuarial team and actively contribute to the development of our life and health insurance business—both in Poland and internationally. You'll gain hands-on experience and build technical expertise by supporting strategic initiatives and key financial processes across the ERGO Group. Our Actuarial Team within ERGO Technology & Services (T&S) is based in modern, employee-friendly offices in Warsaw and Gdańsk.

How you will get the job done

• assisting in enhancing and refining actuarial methodologies and guidelines used for reserving in life and health insurance
• supporting the planning and execution of reserve reviews for life and health entities, gaining insight into key financial drivers
• helping to collect, organize, and review IFRS 17 closing figures to ensure accurate and high-quality financial reporting
• assisting local entities during the IFRS 17 closing process and audits, developing an understanding of compliance and financial standards
• contributing to data flow, results analysis, and reviews related to IFRS 17, Solvency II, and German GAAP, working across a variety of ERGO systems
• supporting the development and enhancement of actuarial, financial, and IT systems by contributing to new features and ongoing changes
• collaborating with a multinational, multicultural team of actuaries, insurance professionals, and IT experts
• facilitating effective communication with life and health entities via email, calls, and workshops. Helping to ensure alignment on system requirements and process changes
• helping to prepare and conduct training sessions (e.g., webinars, PowerPoint presentations) to promote understanding of methodologies and best practices among stakeholders
• assisting in coordinating reinsurance reserving activities under IFRS 17 and learning about regulatory compliance and best practices
• supporting the organization and management of key actuarial contacts within the ERGO Group to maintain strong cross-entity collaboration

Skills and experience you will need

• advanced English skills (C1 level or higher)
• University degree in Actuarial Science, Econometrics, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field
• completed internship in Finance, Insurance, or Consulting
• initial actuarial training or a comparable qualification
• strong organizational, communication, and networking abilities
• ability to work effectively in a team
• intercultural competence and willingness to work in an international setting
• proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and take initiative
• willingness to travel internationally
• flexibility, resilience, and openness to change and innovation
• capacity to learn and perform effectively with guidance from the team

Nice to have

• knowledge of life and health insurance business models, products, and services
• actuarial exams (completed or in progress)
