Safety and Risk Management Specialist

We are looking for a Safety and Risk Management Specialist for our Safety Management department based in Gdansk, Poland.

About The Position
The successful candidate will join a team of passionate and dedicated aviation safety professionals whose goal is to sustain world class and uncompromising aviation safety. The candidate will cover all the Jeppesen ForeFlight locations in Europe and will develop, maintain, and communicate strategies, policies, and initiatives to enhance safety of flight operations. They will research, develop, analyze, and assess safety and regulatory data, trends, and developments to ensure continuous improvement for products and services. The candidate will also as a champion of safety of flight operations initiatives through application of specialized technical expertise in airspace operations, human factors, air navigation, customer operations, safety management, policy, and regulatory domains. The candidate will also collaborate with external stakeholders (customers, regulators, industry, and external organizations) to identify and resolve safety & airworthiness issues and will develop and implement solutions for product safety. The candidate will address safety and regulatory technical inquiries and requests from internal and external stakeholders and support the investigation of organizational and external factors contributing to product safety of flight operations issues. The applicant will support development, deployment and implementation of safety and regulatory policy, standards, and guidance and advocate for safety and regulatory enhancements to support products and services. The candidate will provide technical guidance and training regarding product safety matters, and serve as a mentor and trainer for safety management system initiatives.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• 3-5 years' experience in the aviation industry in safety, quality, operations, flight operations, maintenance, or other related areas
• Familiar with risk analysis, assessment, modeling and methodology
• Familiar with creation and use of metrics for safety analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience)

• Prior experience with aviation safety and SMS
• Completion of a certificate as a licensed pilot
• Completion of Safety Management Certification
• Completion of Safety Risk Management/Bowtie training
• Experience with public speaking
• Desire to work in a collaborative environment
• Ability to interact well with various levels of leadership and front-line employees
• Ability to accomplish goals on a self-directed basis
• Ability to develop and accomplish objectives in coordination with leadership
• Skilled at handling difficult conversations, diverse cultures, and personalities
• Be able to travel to other locations, as required
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field

Relocation:
This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

This position is currently part of Boeing but is planned to transition to an independent company owned by Thoma Bravo, as part of a pending divestiture of the Digital Aviation Solutions organization. If you are selected for this role, your employment may initially be with Boeing (dependent on start date). Subject to final regulatory approvals and closing conditions, your employment may transfer to the divested business owned by Thoma Bravo at close.
