Product Manager

StepStone Services is a StepStone Group global IT Development Center located in Warsaw (we have almost 300 employees), supporting organization in application development and IT support for our web services across Europe, South Africa, Central America. All the software that runs our websites is developed in-house.

As a Product Manager in our Technical Platform group, you'll collaborate closely with other Product Managers, Engineering Directors, Staff Engineers, Engineering Managers, and in partnership with our Platform Engineering teams, deliver products that contribute significantly to our mission to "enable engineers by creating a frictionless development experience. We help teams deliver faster and more efficiently" 

You will be part of a team that has a 'user first' approach and consequently work effectively within a Platform organisation that has a high degree of user obsession, with a discovery led approach for building better products. You'll be expected to balance the needs of our Engineers with the constraints of company standards and policies.   

Your Responsibilities:   

• Product vision: Drive the vision of your products and understand how it is embedded in the overall engineering strategy, with particular focus on identifying opportunities that can transform the developer experience.   
• Ownership: Own the prioritisation of your backlog, the discovery of strategic opportunities, enabling and empowering your team by creating product roadmaps and deliver consistently with a 'can do' attitude within a context of high alignment and high autonomy.   
• Stakeholder management: This job is an individual contributor role. You will need to be able to influence your teammates, as well as colleagues, stakeholders, customers, and key executives, through your use of data and thought process. A technical background is not a requirement, but you will spend most of your day speaking with Software Engineers, so a level of technical competence will be an advantage. 
• Communication: proactively drive your communication flow, updates, etc about the status of the development and initiatives to partners and main stakeholders, offering transparency; enthusiastically communicate on your achievements and the product vision. Be able to finetune the content of your comms to audiences with various degrees of technical skill, or of seniority. 
• Act as the voice of internal engineering teams, translating developer needs into scalable platform product improvements that enhance productivity, reliability, and overall developer experience.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative or technical discipline, or equivalent practical industry experience demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving capability.

• Demonstrated understanding of modern product discovery and product delivery techniques, with experience applying structured frameworks and best practices in real-world environments.

• Proven experience incubating products from early concept through to launch, and incrementally scaling high-traffic products in complex, fast-moving environments.

• Minimum of two years' experience working on technology-powered products as a Product Manager, with experience building internal, developer-focused platforms and tools rather than external, customer-facing products.

• Demonstrated ability to drive technical product development and successfully build products specifically designed to support and empower Software Engineers.

AI Experience (Preferred, Not Required):  

We are increasingly moving to an AI augmented workflow for our Engineers. The Platform organisation is currently discovering how we need to evolve to meet the current and future needs of this transformation. Any experience you have building AI integrated platforms or using AI coding assistants will be an advantage.
