You'll take charge of academic strategy in action, establish precise standards, pinpoint gaps in execution, and guide high-caliber teams toward measurable outcomes. You'll convert our scientific underpinnings into operational rigor and champion this model on a global stage.

What You Will Be Doing

• Developing academic frameworks that convert learning science into actionable guidance for curriculum design, motivation architecture, and application development.
• Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure school teams remain aligned, accountable, and results-oriented.
• Integrating data, interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem assessments that identify the most impactful barriers to accelerated learning and recommend targeted interventions.
• Ensuring strategic alignment via structured planning, continuous feedback mechanisms, and milestone monitoring to sustain focus on student learning objectives.
• Serving as the external face of 2 Hour Learning at premier forums, including keynote presentations and engagements with Ministries of Education, to advance systemic transformation in global education paradigms.

• Engaging in isolated curriculum experiments that fail to influence systemic outcomes.
• Producing theoretical research disconnected from student performance or practical implementation.
• Transferring accountability for results to middle management or external consultants.
• Depending on institutional prestige or conceptual arguments to convince critical stakeholders.

Head Of Academic Innovation Key Responsibilities
Expand and refine 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by harmonizing execution across school environments, reinforcing leadership benchmarks, and establishing yourself as the authoritative voice of a movement anchored in rigorous science and demonstrable outcomes.

Basic Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
• 7+ years leading academic or EdTech teams with evidence of exceptional learning outcomes
• Proven experience applying AI or technology to accelerate learning
• Track record of public thought leadership such as media, keynotes, books, or advising
• Strong performance management skills with the ability to hold elite peers to a high bar
• Fluent in interpreting data to diagnose learning issues and direct interventions
• Comfortable engaging directly with students, parents, and school leaders

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Founded or led an innovative school model, lab school, or high-performing EdTech venture
• Experience navigating cultural, political, or international education contexts
• Deep familiarity with Bloom's 2 Sigma research and other mastery learning frameworks

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
