ASC BA/CRE Group SummaryThe Aon Service Corp Business Asset and Corporate Real Estate Group (ASC BA/CRE) provides accounting and process management support for Aon's US and Canadian operations, finance and tax groups, with a primary focus on real estate and IT systems and support. The group is involved in end-to-end procurement, asset lifecycle management, IT contract support, and managing related information and processes through Workday and other enterprise systems. Regular work also includes controllership activities and collaborating with partner groups on accounting and process solutions for their internal businesses. The group is a core participant in business acquisitions and divestitures, and IT systems implementations and improvements. ASC BA/CRE team members bring diverse skills and add value through their abilities to work in a high-performance environment to optimize solutions with internal business partners across the infrastructure spectrum.Responsibilities:• Support US and Canadian functional groups on asset procurement and lifecycle management, IT contract support, and related projects as needed. • Support and collaborate with: IT FP&A; IT Operations and Application Development; Corporate Real Estate FP&A, Construction and Facilities Management; Corporate, International and Indirect Tax teams; Procurement, acquisitions and divestiture deal teams; Controllerships, Corporate and Technical Accounting.• Support for real estate construction and internally developed software capital projects• Procurement – support requisitioners in asset purchases; review and approval of purchase requests, invoices and PO's as needed.• Participate in ASC monthly close around various balance sheet and P&L components as assigned; analysis and close work around system processes generating accounting to the GL.• General corporate real estate accounting and support • Working capital forecasting, including building and managing quantitative models• Participate in annual SOX testing; maintain and improve SOX documentation and workbooks• Work with external auditors during interim and year-end testing• Work on optimizing accounting operations, processes and internal controls • Work with Technical Accounting, finance groups and controllers to ensure accounting and processes are properly established around IT SW licensing• Support the Corp Tax and Indirect Tax teams on asset tax accounting, including tax audit support, interim and year-end reporting, personal property tax, yearly tax packages, and other projects as needed• Participate in configuration, management and implementation of Workday financial systems. • Acquisitions and divestitures deal support for fixed assets, IT contracts, goodwill, intangibles and other as needed.• Provide agreed upon post-divestiture transition support servicesExperience and Skills• Ability to grasp and consider complex processes and systems, how they interact, and how to manage issues and data around flows and touchpoints• Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to gain and apply knowledge• Focus on continuous improvement, increasing productivity and building efficiencies • Desire and ability to build subject matter expertise across various areas• 3 to 5 years accounting experience• Back-ground in public accounting desired but not essential• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting (If undergraduate is not in accounting).• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Collaborative, especially in participating in team projects across several lines of business.• Strong MS Excel skills, or desire to build same; intermediate or better with a motivation to build tools to improve work product• Experience in more complex aspects of fixed asset and real estate accounting a plus• Understanding of project management methodologies and quality control processes necessary for the successful delivery of new processes and toolsKey Personal Work Characteristics• A strong desire for getting into and effectively managing the complexity of processes and systems• High capacity and an appetite for work in a challenging environment• Ability to wear multiple hats and effectively manage competing responsibilities and projects • Rises to challenges and has ability to turn challenges into opportunities into significant deliverables.• Performance oriented professional; commitment to excellence in all things• Self-managing; can work independently with minimal supervision and consistently produces high quality work product• Takes ownership, willing to be accountable and able to drive work to full completion in a timely manner• High integrity, innovative, creative, strong team ethicHow we support our colleaguesIn addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage an inclusive workforce.
