Medical Assistant 30 hour per week – Primary Care

Southwoods Health is hiring a 30 hour per week Medical Assistant for our Primary Care office in Poland, Ohio.  The Medical Assistant will work with his/her team and partners with the physician and/or other health care professionals to evaluate and provide direction to comprehensive, quality patient care.  Is trained and responsible for performing a wide range of skilled administrative and clinical duties.

Essential Duties: 
  • Create a welcoming, friendly, and professional environment for patients and visitors through exceptional customer service.
  • Rooms patients in a timely manner utilizing two patient identifiers.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, major complaint, medications and allergies in patient chart
  • Collect various specimens by following proper specimen collection, storing and recording protocols
  • Prepare lab specimen in timely manner for transport to hospital lab by maintaining positive specimen identification throughout processing
  • Report and record patient critical lab values, adverse reactions, and pertinent information promptly to physician and team members
  • Able to schedule appointments, answer phones, filing, maintain medical records, and other administrative duties as assigned
  • Recognizes patients' rights and responsibilities and supports them in performance of job duties
  • Ensure all processes at responsible physician practice maintains compliance with all regulatory agencies
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications: 
  • Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program and obtained a diploma; OR Maintains certification renewals from one of the following associations throughout the course of employment: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification through the American Medical Technologists (AMT), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMT), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • Current BLS Certification through AHA


30 hours per week. Monday-Friday 8:00am-2:00pm.
