• Architectural Decision-Making: Guide and establish overall architecture decisions at the program level, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Software Architecture Design: Define the software architecture within the team, ensuring adherence to industry-recognized design patterns and best practices.
• Technical Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with customers to discuss technical requirements and provide technical insights.
• Problem-Solving & Concept Development: Create technical solutions to complex challenges, including the design and documentation of technical concepts in English.
• System Design and Review: Oversee the design and review of MQ Series communication and batch processes.
• Code Analysis and Development: Analyze complex Cobol-based applications (Cobol, JCL, DB2, CICS) for maintenance, refactoring, new functionality, and implementation of business logic and database changes (DB2).
• Effort Estimation: Provide accurate effort estimations for development tasks.
• Coaching and Team Development: Mentor and support other developers to enhance individual and team competence.
• Delivery Coordination: Oversee the software build, delivery, deployment processes, and ensure complete documentation.
• Support and Availability: Be a reliable point of contact for 72-hour on-call support availability for critical issues.

• Programming Expertise: Extensive experience in z/OS, TSO, CICS, and Cobol, along with strong skills in relational databases and SQL, particularly with DB2.

• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge and proficiency with tools and environments like:

• JCL

• Batch processes
• CICS
• DB2 Administration tools such as BMC or DB2ADMIN
• SPUFI or other SQL tools
• Host Debug tools (e.g., XPEDITER)
• MQ Series
• ISPF
• Collaboration and Workflow: Hands-on experience with Kanban boards and collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.

Nice to have:

• Experience in the automotive industry, particularly in vehicle development projects for manufacturers like VW/Audi.
• Basic knowledge of HP ALM/QC for quality management.
• Familiarity with modern mainframe development tools (e.g., iDZ) and Procman.
