Specialist/Analyst for IT Systems in Energy

ENGIE Zielona Energia Sp. z o.o. is searching for an individual to fill the role of Specialist/Analyst for IT Systems in Energy based in Katowice.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Engaging in IT/IS projects and initiatives linked to the company's business operations, focusing on digitalization and process automation.
  • Mapping the company's portfolios of renewable energy installations, electricity consumers, and contracts in existing or newly-developed IT systems.
  • Participating in projects concerning the implementation of regulatory changes supporting the Polish and European energy market.
  • Interacting with external partners to collect information and batch data.
  • Ensuring data quality and integration within existing flows and processes, as well as creating and implementing new ones as needed.
  • Assisting business users in utilizing IT/IS systems.
  • Developing and maintaining software and documentation related to assigned responsibilities.
  • Collaborating with the business and IT/IS team on ongoing tasks and projects at local and group headquarters levels.
  • Communicating and cooperating with other company departments such as finance, accounting, KYC, and back-office to address mutual interactions and needs.

The profile:

  • Minimum of a Master's degree, preferably in computer science, math, energy, or economics.
  • Experience in working with business-supporting systems and significant datasets.
  • Familiarity with architectural patterns and IT system modeling using CASE tools like Enterprise Architect.
  • Demonstrated programming skills in languages such as Python/R and competence with at least one strongly typed OOP language (e.g., Java/C#/C++).
  • Experience with system integration topics including various operating systems, cloud environments, middleware, communication technologies, APIs, SQL, etc.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Polish electricity market mechanisms and renewable energy specifics is advantageous.
  • Knowledge in statistics and machine learning is a bonus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for teamwork and effective communication.
  • Enthusiasm for acquiring new knowledge and diligence in task execution.
  • High motivation and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in both Polish and English (at least intermediate level) for verbal and written communication.
