Purpose of the Role:Key responsibilities for this position involve providing continuous support to the EMEA tax manager across various areas which include:
  • Compiling tax data to meet PayU's obligations across different markets such as tax returns, reporting requirements, and more,
  • Conducting initial analytical reviews of tax returns prepared by tax compliance providers,
  • Coordinating operational aspects with tax compliance providers,
  • Offering initial tax technical support internally on various tax inquiries,
  • Handling tax controlling tasks like creating tax manuals/instructions for the accounting team and maintaining tax documentation archives

Responsibilities and Key Activities:
  • Collaborating with local teams and external advisors to ensure tax compliance at a local level (submitting tax returns, monitoring deadlines, preparing documentation for tax audits),
  • Assisting with tax accounting and reporting for Poland and other relevant countries,
In particular, conducting tax computations for the Effective Tax Rate, reconciling tax accounts, deferred tax calculations, and comparing budgeted tax amounts with actual payments during the Monthly End Close (forecasting/analyzing variances).
  • Preparing forecasts of taxes to be paid or refunded based on the Company's budget,
  • Regularly updating a summary of open/closed tax audits to report to the Finance Leadership Team,
  • Providing guidance on direct and indirect taxes according to local laws,
  • Supporting the tax manager in analyzing international tax matters such as Double Tax Treaties, reverse charge mechanisms, and mandatory disclosure rules, and
  • Conducting local tax risk assessments for review by the tax manager and tax director,
  • Assisting in implementing and updating Tax Compliance controls and providing feedback to the tax manager within the risk management system,
  • Preparing detailed responses to Tax Authority queries and supporting relevant advisors,
  • Maintaining documentation, process maps, and identifying opportunities for enhancing tax processes

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Holder of an Undergraduate degree from a reputable University in Accounting or Finance,
  • Up to three (3) years of relevant tax experience as a tax practitioner in a respected Organization/Big Four Firm (EY, KPMG, PwC, or Deloitte),
  • Experience in providing assistance with tax compliance,
  • Strong technical aptitude and eagerness to further develop professionally,
  • Proficient in computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel,
  • Fluent in both Polish and English languages, both spoken and written,
  • Team-oriented mindset, innovative thinking, and quick learner,
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities,
  • Meticulous and conscientious approach to work,
  • Experience with SAP is a beneficial asset
