Operational Risk Management (ORM) within Citi focuses on meeting its Transformation mandate under the regulatory Consent Order. As a part of the ORM Transformation and Controls Team, the Operational Risk Officer-Transformation and Controls role entails managing and overseeing ORM's Risk & Control Self Assessments, particularly in Control Design, Monitoring, and Testing. Effective communication and diplomacy skills are essential to guide and influence colleagues across different areas and occasional external customers. Additionally, the Operational Risk Officer-Transformation and Controls is tasked with crafting a comprehensive narrative and MIS regarding ORM's Controls and the fulfillment of ORM's Consent Order/Non-Consent Order milestones and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director Transformation and Controls and ORM CAO by taking ownership of executing assigned ORM milestones and deliverables under consent order/non-consent order, in alignment with peers and other stakeholders.
  • Support ORM's Risk and Control Self Assessments and Controls by developing strong relationships with in-Business & Function Risk/Control Leads, Risk & Controls PMO, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee and support the application of operational risk policies and governance processes to create sustainable solutions for minimizing losses.
  • Analyze risks and initiate actions to address root causes of operational risk losses.
  • Establish and promote a strong control environment and culture within ORM and across Citi businesses.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of financial services experience with a focus on Operational Risk and knowledge of relevant financial regulations.
  • Experience in change management programs/projects to enhance risk and control management in a large financial institution.
  • Proficiency in Business Analysis and Project Management best practices.
  • Demonstrated strategic, analytical, and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience collaborating across large organizations.
  • Experience in designing or enhancing control environments and risk assessment processes.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint & SharePoint. Understanding of Data Concepts and experience with Business Process Management, Reporting & Analytical Tools.

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
