Team Leader of Operational Risk Testing– Controls Management

We are in search of an experienced banking professional who is enthusiastic about constructing, influencing, and delivering a solid testing framework within Operational and Data Risks areas at Danske Bank.Operational and Data Risks Testing represents a newly formed team in our Warsaw office. Your contribution will play a vital role in fostering a culture that promotes strong risk awareness and in defining our current and future involvement with the business.The Business Controls and Product Management (BCPM) department holds a key position in aiding the Business to achieve its strategic objectives, reporting directly to the heads of the three business units: Large Corporates & Institutions, Business Customers, and Personal Customers.Controls Management serves as an independent 1st Line of Defence (LoD) control testing unit within BCPM. Operating separately from control ownership and operation in the business units, it aims to ensure effective design and operation of controls.Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementing and coordinating 1st LoD controls testing for key controls associated with Operational and Data Risks across the 3 Business units in Danske Bank.
  • Leading a team of approximately 12 employees focused on developing, executing, and managing testing for Operational risk across all Business Units.
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive control testing for Operational and Data Risks, including test scripts, test frequency, etc.
  • Analysing and interpreting testing results to identify strengths and areas for improvement in Operational and Data Risks across Business areas.
  • Identifying opportunities for test automation for key controls and collaborating with the teams across Controls Management.
  • Supporting escalation of test results and monitoring for Senior management and Governing Risk Committees.
  • Collaborating with the Data Analysis & Automation team for more effective and efficient controls testing processes.
  • Working with the Reporting & Insights team to develop and maintain robust reporting & MI for testing results across Business areas.
  • Managing stakeholders and Group's expectations regarding testing and team deliveries.
  • Supporting and training team members following the 1st LoD control management framework.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in non-financial risk, with a focus on Operational Risk.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of financial products, processes, and risk management principles tailored to specific business requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and a passion for purpose-driven leadership.
  • Relevant university degree or equivalent educational background.
  • Proficiency in English, both in verbal and written communication.
