About Our Client

For our Client, an international service company with strong customer orientation focus, we are looking currently for a seasoned, innovative and highly engaged finance leader to hold a position of Finance Director.

The person on this position will be a key member of the management team influencing the commercial direction of the Polish business through financial control and leadership. The job has full responsibility for the financial management of a company with a total turnover of c.500m PLN. This includes providing business partnering and commercial support to the business and in particular the GM in order to ensure the profitable growth of the business and the Group CFO in financial reporting and compliance.

Job Description

Planning:

  • Supporting in formulating the company's future direction and supporting strategic initiatives;
  • Monitoring and direct implementation of strategic business plans;
  • Developing financial and tax strategies;
  • Managing the capital request and budgeting process;
  • Developing and implementation of performance measures that support the company's strategic direction.
Operations:
  • Participation and supporting all key decisions as a member of executive management team;
  • Maintaining in-depth relations with all members of the management team;
  • Managing the accounting, controlling and debt collection departments, then enlarging the scope with other back-office departments (like customer service, invoicing, logistics etc.);
  • Implement operational best practices;
  • Financial Information and Cost Control, including planning, implementation and supervising the cost control measures in the organization as well as reporting financial results to the board of directors;
  • Risk Management, including understanding and mitigating key elements of the company's risk profile as well as reporting risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors;
  • Founding, including monitoring the cash balances and cash forecasts.

The Successful Applicant

  • Master's Degree in Finance, Economics or related;
  • MBA, CIMA/ACCA qualifications would be highly appreciated;
  • At least 7 to 10 years' experience in finance, including min. 3 years' experience on relevant position, gained in international service company (must have);
  • Knowledge and understanding of general business matters required including budget development, financial reporting, cash management and business taxes;
  • Experience in obtaining external financing;
  • Proven ability to be a valued and trusted business partner to the MD and functional leaders;
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness of financial performance issues;
  • Ability to identify issues and develop pragmatic solutions; present such solutions in a clear, concise, robust yet diplomatic manner;
  • Ability to build and lead a motivated and collaborative finance team;
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and deliver output, flexibly and in a pressurised environment;
  • Highly influential with strong persuasive skills;
  • A high achiever who can work under pressure, likes to work to demanding goals and targets and strives for excellence;
  • An astute business partner with strong consultancy and communication skills together with experience of providing finance support for business development;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Ability to develop and implement systems, tools and processes increasing business clarity.
