Offer Description

The competition is related to research in the area of:

  • environmental radiochemistry


• research in the field of tritium determinations


• nuclear chemistry and physics


• the use of radioisotopes in ecosystem analyses

The candidate should have a doctoral degree in exact and natural sciences or engineering and technical sciences or equivalent. The candidate should have documented scientific achievements in the form of publications in journals in the field of research related to radioisotopes in various components of the natural environment, the use of isotopes in geochronology, and analyzes of ecosystems, including aquatic ones. The candidate should have knowledge in the above-mentioned thematic areas and knowledge of related topics with the construction of a nuclear power plant in Poland and the principles of radiological protection. The candidate should have experience in the use of radiometric techniques and methodologies for the determination of natural and artificial radionuclides in various materials, as well as experience in teaching, at least in the field of providing supervision during internships or student internships. Experience in cooperation with the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) and experience in implementing research grants will be an additional advantage. The candidate should have good English skill at a level that allows for publication in English. The candidate must also demonstrate the will for the further development and will to be able to solve any problems encountered.

  • documented scientific achievements (list of publication) in the field of research related to radioisotopes in various components of the natural environment, the use of isotopes in geochronology, analyzes of aquatic ecosystems;
  • teaching experience at least in the field of supervision of apprentices or trainees in the area of physics, radiochemistry, issues related to environmental protection or radiological protection (completed postgraduate studies in pedagogy are welcome);
  • experience in the use of radiometric techniques and methodologies for the determination of natural and artificial radionuclides in various materials, including the determination of tritium;
  • experience in implementing projects and grants and preparing grant applications will be an additional advantage;
  • knowledge of topics related to the construction of a nuclear power plant in Poland and the principles of radiological protection;
  • experience in cooperation with the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) will be an additional advantage
  • organizational achievements;
  • active participation in the scientific conferences and symposia;
  • predisposition to scientific work and willingness to further development;
  • English knowledge at the level of B-2 least.

The candidate should have experience conducting independent scientific work, publishing in a high-quality journal, as well as teaching students. The candidate should have good English skill at a level that allows for publication in English.
