Rector of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków announces a competitive selection process for the post of an ASSISTANT PROFESSORin the group of research and teaching staff in the Department ofLiterary Anthropology and Cultural Studies (Faculty of Polish Studies) in the academic field of Literary Studies orStudies on Cultures and Religions.

  • have at least PhD degree
  • relevant scientific achievements
  • active participation in scientific life
  • experience in teaching
Specific Requirements
  • PhD with distinction
  • published author's monograph
  • documented teaching experience allowing one to teach both cultural studies – cultural texts and anthropological-cultural Polish studies
  • research activity related to broad anthropological-cultural and philosophical contexts is welcome

Eligibility criteria

The competition may be entered by persons who meet the requirements specified in Art. 113, 116 section 2 point 4 of the Act of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science, and in par. 166 of the Statute of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.

Selection process

The candidates, who would like to take part in the competitive selection process, should send the following documents by email to :

Obligatory documents:

  • CV
  • personal questionnaire filled in by the candidate;
  • copy of the PhDdiploma;
  • information on the candidate's scientific, teaching and organisational achievements;
  • declaration of the candidate, confirming that the Jagiellonian University will be their primary place of work, should they be selected in the competitive selection process;
  • declaration under Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science;
  • declaration on acknowledging and accepting the rules and regulations concerning intellectual property management and commercialisation in force at the Jagiellonian University;
  • information concerning teaching activities carried out by the candidate, if any;
  • reviews of PhD thesis
  • recommendation concerning the candidate's ability to work as an academic teacher, including the results of student surveys and evaluations, if the candidate was subject to such evaluation.

Announcement of the competitive selection process results shall take place by 30 September 2024 and the candidates will be informed by email.

In the selection process, the Jagiellonian University is guided by the principles contained in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
