Project: NCN OPUS 20 LAP No UMO-2020/39/I/ST3/01827, Anti-Stokes Cooling for Fluidics

Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, is looking for a candidate for the position of postdoc in the project joint project with prof. Frank Cichos from Leipzig University: Anti-Stokes Cooling for Fluidics. The successful candidate will participate in a research tasks of the project: Development of rare-earth nanoparticles, which can be laser cooled in water (H2O). Until now, all studies show that efficient cooling is possible in have water (D2O), but there are no studies of cooling in normal water. The candidate will be mostly responsible for chemical synthesis of nanocrystals with different size, ions concertation, and protective shells in both D2O and H2O environments. The candidate should give scientific feedback and participate in designing and improve laser cooling of nanocrystals.

The date of receipt of the documents is decisive. The date of receipt of application documents is considered to be 3.00 pmon the day indicated in the information about the competition. Receipt of the documents from the candidate will be confirmed by the assistant/HR assistant via e-mail to the address indicated in the application.

Candidates' applications will be evaluated by the Competition Committee appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, WUST. After the competition procedure is closed, the applications of persons who have not been accepted for work will be returned, provided that they were sent by traditional mail. People interested in having their documents back will be able to pick them up from the assistant/HR assistant within 6 months after the competition procedure is closed, against acknowledgment of receipt.

Full-time remuneration for a post-doc type post is awarded in accordance to the Annex to NCN Council Resolution No 95/2020 of 14 th of September 2020 amending the Regulations on awarding funding for research tasks funded by the National Science Centre as regards research projects The person to be employed in this NCN post-doc position will meet all of the following conditions:

a) they are selected by means of open competition procedure, carried out by a recruitment committee appointed by the head of the project's host entity, composed of the project's principal investigator as its chair and at least two other persons appointed by the principal investigator, who have necessary scientific or professional qualifications. The assessment of the candidates is carried out pursuant to the criteria outlined in the call announcement and the results are made public by posting on the website of the project's host institution;

b) their PhD degree has been awarded by another institution than the one planned to employ them at this post;.

c) they will be employed for a period of at least 6 months;

d) at the time of receiving remuneration, they will not be receiving any other remuneration paid from the funds granted to research projects under NCN calls under the heading of direct costs;

e) in the period of receiving the remuneration they will be receiving no remuneration from another employer pursuant to an employment contract, including an employer with registered office outside of Poland.

The assessment of the candidates is carried out pursuant to the criteria outlined in the call announcement and the results are made public by posting on the website of the project's host institution;

The University stipulates that the competition may not be concluded.
