University of Wroclaw invites for the position of assistant professor at the Department of Regional Geography and Tourism, Institute of Geography and Regional Development

The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.

Requirements

  • PhD degree in the discipline: geography.
  • Teaching experience in issues related to tourism geography tourism economy with elements of recreation.
  • Scientific publications in the field of: tourism geography, regional geography.
  • Publications popularising tourism are welcome.
  • Active participation in scientific conferences.
  • Good knowledge of English and ability to conduct classes in English, supported by many years of experience in conducting classes at university level.
  • Very good knowledge of the Polish language confirmed for foreigners by a certificate at B2 level and the ability to conduct classes in Polish at university level.
  • At least 5 years of teaching experience at a university, with experience in particular in subjects related to tourism geography.
  • Documented cooperation with organisations and entities operating in the tourism market.
  • Practical experience, evidenced by relevant documents, related to business activities in the tourism market.
  • Documented participation in courses, training, internships projects in the field of tourism geography.
  • Experience and organisational predisposition for the implementation of field activities.
  • Experience in conducting graduation theses at university.
  • Organisational predisposition for the realisation of didactics, conferences, scientific research.
  • Other forms of activity.

Responsibilities

In the research area:

1. Conducting research independently and in teams in the Department of Regional Geography and Tourism.

2. Initiating cooperation with entities of the socio-economic environment.

In the teaching area:

1. Conducting didactic classes in Polish and English chamber and fieldwork.

3. Participation in the process of organisation of the educational process.

In the organisational area:

Active participation in works undertaken by the Department of Regional Geography and Tourism (e.g. organisation of seminars, conferences, thematic meetings, promotion of scientific and didactic activities of the Department to the outside world, etc.).

  • Self-presentation (information about scientific, organizational, and other achievements).
  • List scientific publications in the last ten years.
  • Application for employment addressed to HM Rector.
