Securities Services Sanctions Operations (SSSO) is a global function focusing on Level 2 potential sanctions match investigation, management, escalation, and related activities concerning securities transactions and client data.

As the primary defense line, SSSO ensures Citi's securities services comply with global sanctions, implementing Firm's controls.

We seek an experienced operations manager to lead our EMEA team of 10 employees in Warsaw.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring timely and accurate Level 2 investigation process delivery, workload management, and assessing effectiveness (e.g., KPIs);
  • Enforcing staff adherence to process controls, evaluating control effectiveness and compliance with Global Sanctions Policy;
  • Managing personnel - maintaining suitable resources, nurturing talent, and creating staff development opportunities;
  • Serving as the initial escalation point for internal stakeholders;
  • Collaborating closely with Sanctions Compliance (third line of defense);
  • Leading technological enhancement projects for improved process efficiency.

Desired skills:

  • University degree (BA or higher) with a minimum of 5 years operational experience in banking/finance;
  • At least 2 years managing teams of over 5 individuals;
  • Strong understanding of global geopolitical dynamics and sanctions risks;
  • Detail-oriented with investigative mindset, diligence, and risk-averse approach;
  • Ability to handle stress, work in a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple deadlines;
  • Proficient in English (C1) and MS Excel (basic functions and pivot tables).
