Job Title: EMEA Accounting Team Member at Warner Bros. Discovery

Job Description: The EMEA Accounting Team based in Warsaw is looking for a proactive individual to handle statutory, audit, outsourced accounting, and compliance matters for Warner Bros. Discovery entities in the EMEA business streams. The role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, overseeing operational activities, and applying SOX controls to meet quality requirements. Coordinating with team members, you'll play a crucial role in managing multiple countries in the EMEA region.

Your Role Accountabilities:

  • Lead and oversee general accounting duties across selected EMEA territories
  • Manage statutory financial statement audits with external partners
  • Coordinate local and tax reporting requirements
  • Ensure accurate monthly financial close processes
  • Comply with balance sheet reconciliation policies and SOX requirements
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and standardization
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for related policies and processes
  • Oversee intercompany transactions to ensure proper accounting and billing

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or finance
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting roles
  • Strong knowledge in US GAAP reporting and SOX
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel

Desirable:

  • Experience in multi-site and multi-currency reporting
  • Background in the media industry
  • Experience with US-based companies and tax compliance
