Senior Platform Engineer – Financial Services

As a Platform Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial services leader driving large-scale modernization of its internal technology platforms to improve scalability, security, and development efficiency. You will be contributing to the design and development of enterprise-grade solutions using Java, React, and PostgreSQL while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize business processes and controls. Working within an Agile environment, you will help enhance internal developer platforms and deployment pipelines, supporting the continuous improvement of the client’s engineering ecosystem across both on-premises and cloud infrastructures.

Your main responsibilities:

• Developing backend services and APIs using Java and SQL

• Building interactive and responsive user interfaces using ReactJS, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

• Collaborating with product owners and business analysts to define and refine technical requirements

• Supporting and improving internal engineering and hosting platforms for developers

• Performing control analysis to assess and enhance existing business and technical processes

• Implementing Agile and Scrum practices to deliver high-quality, iterative releases

• Assisting in system deployment and integration across development and production environments

• Participating in code reviews and promoting best coding and design practices

• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues across application layers

• Documenting system components, processes, and design decisions to ensure maintainability

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Strong proficiency in Java (preferably Java 21 or later)

• Hands-on experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL

• Solid understanding of ReactJS and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

• Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments

• Familiarity with software design principles and RESTful API development

• Proven ability to collaborate with business analysts and cross-functional teams

• Knowledge of internal developer and hosting platforms

• Strong SQL skills for query optimization and data manipulation

• Excellent problem-solving and debugging abilities

• Clear communication skills and attention to detail in technical documentation

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience working in large enterprise environments within the financial sector

• Previous exposure to internal deployment systems such as MSS or DHP

• Understanding of control analysis and compliance frameworks

• Basic knowledge of Linux for server and application operations

• Familiarity with cloud-based deployment and containerization tools

• Experience optimizing performance across full-stack applications

• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

• Knowledge of security best practices for web and backend applications

• Ability to contribute to architectural discussions and platform evolution

• Experience mentoring junior developers or supporting knowledge-sharing initiatives
