IT Business Analyst

As a Senior Agile IT Business Analyst you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution undergoing a large-scale digital transformation within its payments technology division. You will be joining a high-performing team that is modernizing payment systems and implementing ISO 20022 standards across multiple business channels. Your focus is on bridging business needs with technical delivery, ensuring that solutions align with regulatory standards and customer expectations while contributing to an agile, collaborative, and innovation-driven environment.

Your main responsibilities:

• Collaborating with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather and analyse requirements

• Translating business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications

• Working with payments systems, especially SEPA, to ensure compliance and efficiency

• Supporting projects involving ISO 20022 message standards and data formats

• Building and understanding end-to-end payment architecture and system integration

• Facilitating agile ceremonies and contributing to sprint planning and backlog refinement

• Ensuring alignment between business objectives and IT deliverables across multiple platforms

• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization within the payments domain

• Using tools such as Confluence and Jira to document, track, and manage project progress

• Supporting testing and validation to ensure solutions meet business and regulatory requirements

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Extensive experience as an IT Business Analyst within payments or financial services

• Strong knowledge of SEPA payments and related payment systems

• Hands-on experience working with ISO 20022 message formats

• Proven track record in Payments IT, Core Banking, or corporate channels

• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and quality

• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and agile teams

• Solid understanding of the full project life cycle within large organizations

• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills

• Experience using agile collaboration tools such as Confluence and Jira

• A business-oriented mindset with a solid technical understanding

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with one or more Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban

• Professional certifications such as CBAP or IQBBA

• Working knowledge of SQL for querying and data analysis

• Experience designing and implementing payment architecture improvements

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in international payment processing
