Hitachi Energy's Grid Automation (GA) business unit is in search of a global product marketing leader for its Global Product Group (GPG), Automation & Communications (AC). The Automation & Communications GPG holds a prominent position with its wide range of products, systems, and services for substation and distribution automation, as well as essential communications for electric utilities, industrial, and transportation customers operating electrical networks. Our solutions combine profound domain expertise and innovative technologies that assist customers globally in optimizing the critical systems that drive, transport, and link us.

You act as the bridge and interpreter of intricate technical and business knowledge from product management and sales to the Hitachi organization. As the product marketing leader, you will foster a culture of close collaboration with these key partners.

In this position, you will oversee the internal and external marketing of the Automation & Communication technology and services portfolio on a global scale. Alongside global product management and sales leadership, you will shape the storytelling and content creation strategy for the portfolio. You will drive the Marketing and Communications strategy and planning process for the GPG to ensure that the investment plan is optimized for short- and long-term business goals. Collaborating with the global marketing and communications teams – both at the business and corporate levels – is crucial to ensure the effective representation and positioning of the AC portfolio across digital platforms and in-person events.

To bolster your vision and strategy, you will be accountable for creating and maintaining essential documentation for the portfolio, including product messaging, value propositions, customer personas, competitive analysis, and core customer references. The content articulated in these documents will come to life through the content delivery process, supported by your marketing and communication peers.

In essence, as part of this role, you will steer the foundational aspects of the GPG's growth engine in collaboration with a diverse stakeholder group. Come aboard and help us narrate the Grid Automation story sustainably.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Build relationships with cross-functional product leadership to drive alignment with the marketing and communications organization.
  • Develop and recommend product positioning and promotional strategies for long-term market share growth.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications teams at the BU and corporate levels to execute activities driving global growth.
  • Create and manage the portfolio's documentation library to support internal and external promotion and content creation.
  • Lead the product launch strategy for the entire portfolio, optimizing internal resources and maximizing external impact.
  • Ensure marketing and communications execution meets high quality standards, driving consistency in messaging.
  • Maintain market awareness by analyzing internal and external research to adapt marketing strategy accordingly.
  • Secure necessary resources to meet marketing and communications objectives for the AC GPG.
  • Evaluate marketing investments continuously to refine messaging and positioning based on market conditions.
  • Promote cross-functional and cross-BU collaboration to explore potential in new market segments for the AC GPG.
Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, marketing, communications, or business with 10-12 years of experience in product management or marketing. Strong technical acumen, with expertise in industrial automation and communications, is essential.

Language Skills:

Demonstrate exceptional executive-level writing and presentation abilities. Ability to analyze and interpret technical, financial, and legal documents.

Data and Analytic Skills:

Proficiency in analyzing marketing and sales data and leveraging metrics to drive decision-making. Hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager and Analytics, AirTable, Power BI, and similar tools.

Organizational Skills:

Demonstrated experience in managing complex, multi-resource projects. Navigate a fast-paced, global organization and foster strong advocacy among collaborating teams.

Travel:

Up to 25 percent of time.
