Position Purpose

Seeking world-class talent to join the world's leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services operating 5,500+ locations and servicing more than 20,000 locations in the U.S and Canada. Specifically, this role will function as the Director of Product Management in Digital Commerce Platforms defining and creating innovative products at GPC. Working with a highly talented team, you will play a key role to build and run one of the world's largest automotive and industrial replacement parts operations.

The Director of Product Management is responsible for delivering business value to drive sales, improve efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction through the production of quality products. Within their designated enterprise product, the Director focuses on delivering value by leading the strategic vision and product roadmap across the customer journey and ensuring all products within their portfolio are aligned to the vision. The Director identifies and connects interdependencies with other products within the customer journey. They support business reviews, communicate the product vision, and present across all levels of the organization. Directors are also responsible for attracting, motivating, coaching and mentoring top product management talent.

This Director role will oversee, and direct creation of customer experiences related to the Product Discovery space which includes, but not limited to, home page, category landing pages, browse, guided navigation, product listing page, product detail page, search & recommendations to enable customers in finding the items they are looking for and inspiring them to new items they may want.

Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning

  • Partners with business, product, UX and technical leaders to identify and plan capabilities necessary to meet short and long-term business needs.
  • Develops and executes strategic plans in support of key objectives in a timely and fiscally responsible manner.
  • Supports growth for the business by applying domain expertise to provide thought leadership and translate vision into action.
  • • Informs and drives strategic alignment and partnerships with peers and leaders.
  • Connects the dots across multiple levels and related functions to understand the business holistically.
  • Evaluates research and market analysis, meets with third party vendors, and maintains knowledge of industry innovations and technology platforms to inform strategy.
  • Establishes and nurtures strategic vendor relationships; influences vendors to align to domain, portfolio, and enterprise strategic objectives.

Delivery and Execution

  • Understands and articulates the value creation and business proposition to teams, partners, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Defines and communicates value propositions, OKRs, success metrics, and outcomesthat align with business strategy.
  • Develops plans, roadmaps, drives prioritization and implements sustainable, repeatable, and reliable processes to deliver business value.
  • Oversees process improvements and helps drive operational excellence to continuously improve speed, productivity and deliver exceptional customer experience to drive results.

Talent Management

  • Attract, retain, develop, and motivate top talent within the Product organization.
  • Coach, mentor, grow, and advise other Product Managers across areas.
  • Partner across peers, leaders, and other domain experts to evangelize and drive thought leadership, innovation and encourage collaboration across teams.
  • Lead through connected conversations to create a wide sphere of influence.

Requirements

Desired Qualifications & Experiences:

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in product management
  • Industry recognition or significant expertise within Digital Commerce space and delivering world-class Digital Products and experiences.
  • Mastery of translating business strategy into a Product vision, roadmap, defining objectives, outcomes, and measuring value along the way.
  • Mastery of working as a leader of Product Managers in a modern software development-based enterprise environment and overseeing multiple Product teams
  • Mastery of modern software development product management practices and agile methodologies partnering across business, UX, and engineering teams
  • Mastery in communicating with and influencing partners, stakeholders and leaders at all levels in the organization to drive prioritization, share progress and articulate business impact and results.
  • Mastery of working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional, modern software designand development team
  • Proficiency in developing Omni-channel Digital Product Discovery across B2C, B2B and Stores, specializing in search, browse, and recommendations.
