Job Description

The Product Owner - UX/UI Designer of PremierOne Product Management is responsible for serving as the agile product owner and UX/UI designer for a fast paced team working on our new UI/UX customer experience.

This position is responsible for establishing best practice and standards for requirements elicitation, artifact documentation, and filling the agile role of product owner at the team level. Along with understanding customer needs and experience they will be asked to design new product screens to replace the 15 year old ones. The PO - Designer will be responsible for managing prioritization of the suite backlog at the feature and user story level. The PO- Designer will be responsible for screen designs and user experience.
 

Responsibilities

Mockup and Design Screens

Iterate through Designs and get end user feedback

Work closely with senior product management to understand suite level initiatives and epics.

Persuade and influence others through strong communication

Directly impact the business by influencing strategic functional decisions through advice and counsel to Product Management leadership

Demonstrate a high level of subject matter expertise in all functional areas to help maintain a system-level view during the decision making process

Review epics, features, and user stories from product teams to ensure quality and completeness

Actively engage in sprint planning and sprint review ceremonies

Ensure backlog and goals for each team are maintained and current

Own backlog prioritization for assigned SCRUM teams

Practice knowledge transfer and foster change management as the organization changes and new skills are required

Desired Skills

UX / UI and design thinking

 5+ years UX /UI design experience or 5+ year experience in product ownership or agile engineering.

Understanding of Agile Product Ownership principles and best practices

Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups using tools like Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar.

Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.

Proficiency in UX research methodologies, including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and persona development.

Team player, consensus builder, natural collaborator

Proactive in the investment in others

Enthusiastic about motivating and leading others

Ability to give honest and direct feedback

Interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflicts

Strong organization and planning skills 

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Polished presentation skills for internal and external audiences

Proactive, enthusiastic attitude toward challenging problems 

Strong decision making and prioritization skills

Experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies

Firm understanding of software design, user interaction, and user interface design.

Experience using Aha Is a plus

Experience in Law Enforcement / Public Safety software is a plus


Basic Requirements

5+ years' experience in related field
