Senior Manager R&D Procurement - Evidence Generation

As a Senior Manager of R&D Procurement, you will oversee category management for the Evidence Generation team. This includes developing and implementing category strategies, contracting for master/service agreements, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring suppliers meet GSK's performance, quality, and financial requirements.

The Evidence Generation category plays a crucial role in the success of the Global Evidence Generation teams. It encompasses fee-for-service outsourcing supporting our Value Evidence and Outcomes (VEO) and Epidemiology teams. The category involves various critical non-interventional services that provide commercially relevant and scientifically rigorous evidence to elevate our product's value proposition and reimbursement potential.

  1. Non-Interventional Studies: Primary Data Collection, Secondary Data Analysis
  2. Analysis on-Human Subject Research (HSR): Literature Reviews, Global Value Dossiers, Economic Models
  3. Strategy/Consulting: Data Analysis, Evidence Generation Consulting

Evidence Generation is vital throughout the product life cycle as we share scientific information about our pipeline and in-line products, helping us be Ambitious for Patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and support Global Medical categories
  2. Develop strategies with Chief Patient Officer stakeholders
  3. Plan, negotiate, execute, interpret, and maintain contracts; conduct negotiations across applicable categories of spend
  4. Collaborate across multiple countries and business units, requiring high cultural awareness
  5. Establish strong partnerships with Business Owners and Suppliers to understand challenges and develop simplified resolutions
  6. Proactively liaise with functional groups to determine scope of category services, supplier suitability, competitive bid analysis, and identification of areas for efficiency gains
  7. Become familiar with complex business processes in GSK supplier transactions, including risk, regulatory, and compliance requirements
  8. Implement procurement strategies to maximize supplier leverage
  9. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce non-value-added work, maximizing efficient buying channels
  10. Contribute to R&D procurement savings targets year-on-year

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement category management
  • Proven negotiation and contract management skills
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in English
  • University degree

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience of R&D Procurement and/or Evidence Generation
  • Experience with procurement lifecycle management systems like Ariba Sourcing, Contracts, and Guided Buying
  • Effective Supplier Relationship Management experience
  • International sourcing process experience
