Manufacturing Process Subject Matter Expert (SME)

The SME team supports the SPE activities in component design, commodity strategy, and supplier selection for products/processes.

The primary responsibilities of the Stamping SME are:

  1. Leading supplier development and qualification activities for new products, including identification of project risks and mitigating actions, managing project schedules, approval of supplier process documents, process capability analyses, measurement system analyses, etc.
  2. Maintain industry leading stamping knowledge through training, research, process councils, etc.
  3. Drive continuous improvement with suppliers through evaluations and flawless launch processes, using disciplined problem-solving approaches.
  4. Mentor and train members on stamping.
  5. Lead complex issue recovery efforts.
  6. Maintain a close relationship with peers to share best practices, drive standardization, and coordinate on global cost-out and continuous improvement projects that require SME support.

The ideal candidate should have:

  1. Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering
  2. Minimum 10 years Manufacturing Engineering experience in stamping processes (Transfer, Progressive, Deep Drawn, and Fine Blanking, etc.) including tool and die design, industry standards, and press operation.
  3. Minimum 5 years of experience in the nuclear or related energy industry (desired)
  4. Professional Certifications: Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) or equivalent experience and a development plan to pursue
  5. Effective communication with different disciplines and functions
  6. Respectful negotiation and conflict resolution
  7. Proactive approach to work/risk management
  8. Results oriented and self-driven
  9. Questioning attitude and continual interest to learn and develop
  10. Effective decision maker – timely and using data, facts, input, etc.
  11. Team oriented and collaborative
  12. Ability to effectively mentor and develop others
  13. Mobility around 10-20% Travel (globally)
  14. Stable employment in Kraków SSC
