Salary

The estimated annual salary for this role is $80,000-$120,000 based on industry standards and location considerations.

About the Role

As a News Reporter/Translator with Spanish, you will be responsible for searching through approved sources to grasp and translate news into Spanish. You will also translate market reports and stories from English to Spanish, applying your news judgment to select relevant news and package it for Reuters News online clients.

Your tasks will include selecting and packaging news stories with relevant pictures, videos, and graphics, as well as writing headlines and news summaries accurately, quickly, and with high standards of credibility, in accordance with Reuters principles and operating standards.

You will identify market-moving figures and comments to filter out news stories from sources including electronic news releases, conferences calls, Webcasts.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess fluency in English and Spanish, strong translation skills, and excellent news judgment. You should be able to write with speed, clarity, accuracy, and freedom from bias, demonstrating a sound command of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Additionally, you should be comfortable handling financial data and facts accurately and quickly, with knowledge of corporate activity, stock markets, and financial vocabulary or an ability to gain such knowledge quickly.
