Financial Accountant with Expense Management Expertise

Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in EMEA territories for Warner Bros. Discovery. As a key member of the accounting team, you will be responsible for managing expense accounting for Direct-to-Consumer activity, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage financial records related to expenses, including personnel, G&A, Tech Ops, marketing, sales, and research expenses.
- Ensure timely booking of expenses, including related accruals and prepaids.
- Prepare account reconciliations in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and completeness for expense-related accounts.
- Participate in the month-end close process for expense-related accounts, including preparation and review of journal entries and other financial reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Procurement and HR, to ensure timely and accurate recognition of expenses.
- Evaluate personnel workload requirements within the team and recommend changes or process improvements as needed.
- At least 5 years of experience in an accounting role, with a strong understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX requirements.
- BS/BA in Accounting from an accredited university.
- CPA or Chartered Accountant (CA) certification preferred.
- Experience performing financial accounting monitoring of key business performance metrics.
- Strong understanding of financial systems, with the ability to learn and master new system tools.
