Iron Mountain is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Team Lead to oversee payroll processing for several countries in EMEA. The successful candidate will collaborate with the payroll vendor and direct the work of team members supporting these countries.
Main Responsibilities- Ensure timely and accurate data submission to the payroll vendor, following the agreed process and timeline.
- Plan and assign activities according to the payroll calendars, ensuring proper resource utilization.
- Monitor case volumes and other case-related metrics and SLAs for the Iron Mountain team and the vendor.
- Drive high customer satisfaction.
- Service delivery excellence: constantly review existing processes and procedures, identify gaps and improvements, and make recommendations for changes.
- Ensure payroll controls are in place, up to date, and followed through by the team.
- Make sure all processes are documented and reviewed regularly.
- Closely supervise activities related to UK payroll processing.
- Manage day-to-day activities for a subset of the team, including monitoring workflows, team assignments, and processing deadlines.
- Organize work to ensure a proper backup structure and plans are in place.
- Monitor performance against goals.
- Provide timely feedback to team members, take corrective steps where needed.
- Lead with empathy and by example, ensuring high employee engagement and morale.
- Serve as the first point of escalation in case of payroll-related issues for the supported countries.
- Manage employee, business, and vendor escalations for the supported markets.
- Support the EMEA Payroll Manager in activities related to vendor management, including monitoring vendor performance and services reviews.
- 3-5 years of experience in Payroll, Finance, or HR Operations with cross-country exposure.
- Good level of understanding of UK payroll.
- 1-2 years of experience in leading teams and/or projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Payroll operations (in-house or vendor side).
- Strong background in working with HRIS, preferably Workday, as well as case management tools, ideally ServiceNow.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build strong partnerships with key stakeholder groups.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations that require sound decision-making.
- Strong analysis, problem-solving, proactive root cause analysis, customer interfacing, conflict resolution skills, and a Continuous Improvement mindset.
