Visionary Leadership in Accounts Payable

Baxter is embarking on a transformative journey to separate our ~$5B Kidney Care segment into a standalone company, Vantive. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organization.

About the Role

  • Reports to the P2P Lead and is responsible for supervising a team of up to 10 P2P Specialists, ensuring the defined service level agreements are met.
  • Works closely with Baxter Business Services (BBS) personnel and vendors to address and resolve issues, enforce channel strategies, and manage compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensures errors are minimized and straight-through processing principles are adopted where possible.
  • Investigates complex invoice processing issues and progresses through to a satisfactory outcome.
  • Supports period-end close reconciliation activities, as needed.
  • Reconciles supplier statements and investigates debit balances as instructed.
  • Performs data entry/keying into payable systems, as required.
  • Reconciles/analyzes general ledger accounts, as required.
  • Maintains a high-performing, highly motivated team, ensuring staff receive the training appropriate to their needs/abilities.
  • Provides staff coaching and reviews and approves employee performance evaluations for completeness/fairness.
  • Supports staff training and education activities.
  • Monitors the quality of responses to the customer and is accountable for setting the appropriate escalation policies.
  • To plan, organize, and define roles for team members to ensure customer service expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Works with Procurement, Finance management, and BBS Management to manage compliance issues.
  • Identifies and presents solutions for continuous process improvement, including root cause analysis and recommendations.
  • Reviews and proposes changes to Accounts Payable policies and procedures as dictated by market and company changes and/or industry, in addition to changes in personnel, department practices, and systems.
  • Educates internal customers and suppliers on the use of self-service solutions, where appropriate.
  • Provides input into performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Expert in the end-to-end Accounts Payable process.
  • Understanding of Accounts Payable best practices.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to plan, assign, and direct work; ensuring strict deadlines are met.
  • Expertise in BBS operations, including organization, processes, and technologies.
  • Understanding of Accounts Payable best practices.
  • A self-starter with the drive needed to manage targets and deadlines.
  • The written language skills needed to deliver service excellence.
  • Knowledge of financial systems.
  • Understanding of change management and human resource issues.
  • Good analytical and interpersonal skills.
