The ideal candidate will have advanced technical writing skills, with an attention to detail and an aptitude for understanding and explaining technical information appropriately for the target audience. Strong oral, written, and visual communication skills are essential for this role. The candidate will interact with other product team members, including Product Management, Software Development, Quality Assurance, Professional Services, and Training, to determine documentation requirements, develop the content to meet those requirements, ensure that reviews are conducted, and deliver accurate documents on time.
The successful candidate will create and maintain technical communications, API documentation, user guides, in-context help, release notes, deployment and operations guides, and SDKs. They will work collaboratively with engineering, quality assurance, and product management teams both locally and remotely. Additionally, they will review and edit documents from multiple teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
A key responsibility of the role is to organize and structure documentation to facilitate navigation and understanding by multiple users. The candidate will contribute documentation to software and feature releases and understand and identify best practices for innovations in technical communication. They will work in an agile environment and use version control systems such as Git. Experience with Open API, DITA, and XML authoring tools such as oXygen XML is desirable.
