Job Title: Accounting Process Manager – RtR

Verisk is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our growing GL Team as a process expert and people leader. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills and highly developed soft skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly financial close process for the Verisk Service Center, ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded and reviewed.
  • Collaborate with business unit controllers and the International Edinburgh hub to produce a timely, efficient, and accurate month-end close.
  • Prepare and review detailed account analyses as part of the month-end close.
  • Oversee multiple accounting areas, including Prepaid Expenses, Commissions, Fixed Assets, and month-end accruals.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Partner with the local Team Leader on people management aspects.
  • Develop a strong understanding of RTR processes, including Intercompany, Reporting, Cash Management, and Treasury.
  • Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of accounting experience, with a focus on General Ledger and Technical Accounting.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS rules.
  • Experience in a service center environment.
  • Proven expertise in understanding evolving accounting issues and innovative decision-making abilities.
  • Large ERP experience, with Oracle Fusion a plus.
  • Experience in supervising and coaching a team of employees to drive team development.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with local teams and US/UK teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to self-review, and sense of ownership.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to set goals, establish priorities, and utilize available resources.
  • Effective documentation, teamwork, and communication skills.

Education and Skills:

  • Master's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification, such as ACCA, a plus.
  • Fluency in English, with a C1 level or higher.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
