Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Actuarial Expert to join our team at ERGO Technology & Services S.A. in Warsaw, Poland.
Estimated Salary: €80,000 - €110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Actuary to contribute to the insurance liability management function within our company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing insurance liabilities under Solvency II and IFRS17, with a strong background in actuarial modeling, data analysis, and technical accounting.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor the valuation and validation of insurance liabilities for ERGO Group companies.
- Evaluate the appropriateness of models and methods used, as well as assumptions made for insurance liability valuation.
- Develop in-depth understanding of L&H insurance liabilities valuation and related IT solutions (e.g., Prophet).
- Conduct independent reviews of insurance liabilities valuation and validation, reinsurance arrangements, underwriting policy (including ESG risks), and local actuarial governance.
- Support the Group Actuarial Function's annual report by assessing the adequacy of reserves levels, reliability, and appropriateness of insurance liabilities valuation, overall underwriting policy, reinsurance arrangements, and actuarial governance.
- Handle special tasks and ad-hoc requests, including project and working group coordination, and lead the valuation changes process for insurance liabilities (IFRS17 and Solvency II).
Requirements
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Degree in Mathematics, Economics, or Business Administration with a focus on finance or comparable education.
- Willingness to travel abroad twice per quarter for 2-3 days.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in risk management, actuarial, statistics, ALM, or similar fields in the insurance industry.
- Desirable: IFRS17 knowledge and completed actuarial professional education with extensive knowledge of valuation models for insurance liabilities and the activities of the actuarial function of a primary insurer.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently, and high level of commitment.
