Overview of the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Lead to join our DevOps Core Services team at HSBC Service Delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape our multi-year DevOps vision, impacting an engineering community of over 45,000 people globally.

About the Job

This senior role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable, highly available, and secure cloud infrastructure using industry best practices. As a key member of our team, you will ensure that all build and design activities align with high-level architecture principles and our overall strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure alignment of builds and designs with high-level architecture principles and overall strategy.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members in developing their technical and soft skills in a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Collaborate with the build team to design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure using industry best practices.
  • Evaluate and ensure that all build activities adhere to best practice.
  • Utilize Google Cloud Platform, including products like Cloud Storage, Cloud Logging, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow.
  • Implement observability tools, such as logging and metrics.
  • Design and implement modular shared pipeline components.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least 10 years of experience in CI/CD.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with CloudBees Jenkins (installation, configuration, and administration).
  • Experience with cloud platforms, specifically Google Cloud Platform, and interacting with Cloud Storage, Big Query, and Cloud Logging.
  • Container orchestration expertise with K8s, including one or more of GKE, AKS, EKS, and container management tooling.
  • Strong experience in object-oriented code development (such as Python and Groovy).
  • Proficiency in declarative Jenkins pipeline development.
  • Familiarity with branching strategies for declarative pipeline management.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
What We Offer
