Job Title: Senior Service Engineer Mechanical

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Service Engineer Mechanical to join our Field Service team in Gdansk, Poland. As a Senior Service Engineer, you will be responsible for executing Field Service activities in accordance with Wärtsilä quality, providing technical expertise for our customers, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting on Wärtsilä products or similar medium bore diesel engines.
  • Engine component overhauls in workshop and on-site, including some in situ machining.
  • Troubleshooting and routine maintenance of engine products, along with component investigation.
  • Checking and adjusting relevant systems (i.e. auxiliary equipment).
  • Pre-commissioning and mechanical commissioning of engines.
  • Preparing service reports and travel expenses on time and in accordance with Wärtsilä quality.
  • Identifying failures, making adjustments, assisting on trial runs, and testing of mechanical installations according to instructions.
  • Providing internal and external work reports in accordance with Wärtsilä standards.
  • Performing site audits.
  • Collecting and organizing time and expense reports, informing administrative personnel as required.
  • Reporting executed work in accordance with Wärtsilä standards.

Requirements:

  • B. Sc. or M. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or similar relevant technical educational background.
  • Experience with service and/or repairs of mechanical components.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Fluency in Polish.
  • Good command of English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Practical experience from the marine industry.
  • Excellent reporting skills, including scope changes and deviations.
