Our team designs, develops, and manages applications and infrastructure that support Akamai's Compute, CDN, and security products and services. We specialize in creating solutions that help improve observability and enforce SLAs across all internal teams. We do all of this while maintaining Akamai's mission to make. life better for billions of people, billions of times a day.

Collaborate with others to build the best solutions for customers

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will perform system analysis and troubleshooting, assess performance and capacity of our platform, and make improvement recommendations. Having identified improvements, you'll work with engineering and the SRE teams to implement new features and products.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Testing inefficiencies and fragilities and write software or infrastructure fixes.You must be fluent in both software code and IaCDesigning and work with Engineering or the SRE team to build automation or provide self-service toolsLeveraging skills in data analysis, network diagnostics and debugging tools to characterize performance and capacity of large-scale distributed systemsDesigning, managing and tracking of Akamai's platform related KPIs to identify trends and changes to improve performanceInvestigating proactively and analyzing platform performance to identify opportunities to maintain and enhance our advantageCollaborating with internal teams to help trouble-shoot and resolve escalations and incidents for our customersWorking with cross-functional teams to gather customer requirements and influence how the business deploys and operates capacity

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

Have relevant experience and knowledge in Computer Science or another quantitative disciplineDemonstrate experience in developing solutions Python, Bash, or other languagesDemonstrate experience in internet protocols such as DNS, HTTP, TCPHave experience working with and analyzing complex systems in Linux, VM, and Kubernetes production environmentsShow excellent communication skills and articulate technical information in a clear and easy to understand mannerDisplay excellent organization skills, managing priorities and multiple tasksBe a self-starter, proactively taking the initiative to solve problems and have a drive to improve results
