Site Reliability Engineer(SRE)s are the driving force that keeps the system running smoothly and helps identify any bottlenecks before they become issues. We focus on optimizing services, building infrastructure, and eliminating manual operations work with automation.

Partner with the best

The Certificate Provisioning System(CPS) SRE team shares responsibility for the availability and performance of mission critical Akamai certificate provisioning infrastructure. As a SRE, you will troubleshoot, assess performance and capacity of our platform, and make improvement recommendations. You will contribute to the design, implementation and delivery of software that improves the availability, scalability and performance of services. In this rewarding role you will help shape the direction of our products and services and how we deploy our network.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Designing, managing and tracking of Akamai's platform related KPIs via monitoring tools and alerting to identify trends and changes to improve performance and availability
• Managing system-level performance tuning to optimize for reliability and efficiency
• Acting as an escalation point for support, platform and product teams to ensure platform or customer issues are resolved
• Partnering with product, development and test groups to guide software releases, lead software deployments, and create rapid cycles of product and software feedback and improvements
• Developing automation tools to reduce SRE toils for day-to-day work including feature activation, handling escalations and proactive monitoring

• Have deep understanding of operating and monitoring Java applications and Dockerized containers
• Have demonstrated experience automating tasks in Python and other scripting languages
• Have experience with relational database systems and complex SQL statements
• Have excellent problem-solving skills, be a team player and be able to mentor team members
• Have extensive experience in Linux/UNIX environment system administration
