Our Team builds and delivers highly secure network security frameworks to protect our customers. We collaborate to create next-generation initiatives supporting automation, deployment, and monitoring of 3rd party cloud infrastructure.

Help us shape the future of the Internet

In this role you will provide advanced cloud operations for the top-of-the-line security products on the market, including our unique Zero Trust Security platform. You will be focusing on a cutting-edge suite of services to ensure application and network performance, reliability and security for users connecting through the Akamai Zero Trust platform.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of critical systems and services.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining automation tools and processes to optimize operational tasks, system provisioning, and configuration management effectively.
  • Implementing and maintaining effective monitoring systems ensures potential issues are identified and addressed proactively, preventing negative impacts on user experiences.
  • Collaborating with the security team to implement and maintain best practices for securing systems and data.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements, implement best practices, and drive the adoption of new technologies to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
  • Identifying and optimize performance bottlenecks in systems, applications, and infrastructure components

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrate expertise as a Site Reliability Engineer or within an equivalent position in the field.
  • Have programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python, Go, Shell).
  • Utilize cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes for efficient infrastructure management.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Linux/Unix systems alongside comprehensive understanding of networking principles and system configurations.
  • Have proficiency in configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Be familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in networking protocols including DNS, HTTP, TCP, and IP for effective system communication and troubleshooting.
