Our team designs, develops, and manages applications and infrastructure that support Akamai's Compute products and services. We do this while maintaining Akamai's mission at the forefront of what we do. make life better for billions of people, billions of times a day.

Partner with the best

As a Senior SRE, you will specialize in creating solutions that improve automation and efficiencies across all internal teams. You will drive automation, operational excellence, and support our customer facing applications and infrastructure. This will require creative thinking combined with deep domain expertise in the areas of Linux systems administration. configuration management, automation, software development.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Defining requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence the new designs and standardsBuilding tools, automating tasks, deployments, troubleshooting and reducing toilImproving SLOs/SLIs, observability, increasing reliability at scaleParticipating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issuesParticipating in architecture of new projects

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

Have 5 y of relevant experience and a Bachelor's in Computer Science or its equivalentPossess expert level experience in a Site Reliability Engineering/DevOps/Software Development/SysAdmin role, working with large scale distributed systemsHave experience with building tools for automation and infrastructure at scale(eg. python, terraform, saltstack, jenkins)Have experience with SLO & Observability tools, eg. Prometheus, Grafana, etc.Demonstrate great communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work independently and with a teamBe able to take ownership of the work you do, communicate all the needs, come with propositions of solutionsPossess informed opinions on technology and software design to bring to the table
