ABOUT THE ROLE

The Head of Medical Promotion is responsible for leading, motivating, developing, and managing the team of Medical Representatives, ensuring high-quality scientific communication, strong field execution, and alignment with company strategic goals. The role serves as the key operational and scientific link between the field medical team, marketing, and the Sales & Operations Director, to whom the role reports. This position ensures that medical messages, educational initiatives, and scientific communication strategies are consistently delivered across all territories.

KEY WORK TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leading, motivating, and developing a team of medical representatives

  • Guides the activities of the team of medical representatives in line with the company's strategic goals, empowers and motivates the team to achieve excellent medical promotion results and to pursue both personal and professional development. Builds a culture of scientific excellence and accountability.
  • Conduct regular field visits, provide structured coaching, and deliver actionable feedback
  • Participates in the selection and recruitment of new team members, oversees their onboarding, and provides training to ensure a quicker transition to independent work.
  • Define training needs and implement development plans, take part in setting individual goals, monitoring and evaluating performance, providing feedback, and planning development activities for team members.
  • Participates in decisions regarding the conditions and amounts of annual bonuses, as well as the types of incentives for team members.

Field Medical Strategy & Execution

  • Translate brand and marketing strategies into field medical plans.
  • Ensure consistent and scientifically accurate messaging.
  • Oversees and attends medical educational activities (round tables, webinars, expert meetings, conferences).
  • Monitor KPIs such as coverage, frequency, targeting, and messaging quality.
  • Partner with marketing to refine educational and promotional materials.
  • Identifies areas for improvement and growth and participates in the design and testing of innovations within team activities.
  • Participates in management meetings to share knowledge and experience, analyze business results, discuss key projects, and decide on optimal strategic options based on market-specific situations.

Training and development of medical representatives

  • Participates in and organizes training for newly hired medical representatives.
  • In coordination with the marketing team, keeps the team informed about the latest studies, guidelines, and updates related to the products.
  • Motivates the team to adopt and effectively communicate current marketing tools, monitors how marketing tools and brands are being presented by the team, and suggests improvements to enhance the effectiveness of brand and tool presentation with the goal of achieving better sales results.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Sales & Operations Director.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team for synergy in scientific communication.
  • Cooperate with the Medical Engagement Manager on KOL engagement and initiatives.
  • Provide structured field insights to support strategic decisions.

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with ethical codes, laws, and internal procedures.
  • Oversee CRM usage and reporting accuracy.
  • Define and monitor KPIs for medical team performance.
  • Ensure high-quality execution at congresses and professional events.

All other tasks ordered accordant to direct superior's order and to job purpose and nature.

WORK ROLE PROFILE:

  • University degree in Medicine or Pharmacy (highly preferred, though not mandatory).
  • 5 years of experience in medical promotion or scientific roles.
  • 3–5 years of experience leading teams.
  • Strong understanding of scientific communication.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with sales and marketing.
  • Excellent coaching, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strategic leadership and team coaching.
  • Scientific credibility and knowledge.
  • Operational excellence in field execution.
  • Cross-functional collaboration.
  • Analytical mindset and data-driven thinking.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism.
  • English – advanced level of knowledge.
  • Polish – mother language or C2 level of knowledge.
