Operations Director

Position: Operations Director – Retail (Consumer Goods)

Location: Warsaw / Cracow

On behalf of our Client, a well-recognized retail brand in the consumer food sector, we are currently seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and process-driven Operations Director to lead and optimize all operational aspects of the company's retail presence across the Polish market. This critical leadership role, reporting directly to the Country CEO and serving as a member of the management board, offers full responsibility for store operations, supply chain, logistics, customer experience, and operational excellence across both physical and digital channels.

The ideal candidate will bring strong retail operations expertise, a continuous improvement mindset, and a proven track record of leading large teams and complex projects in a dynamic, customer-centric environment.

As Operations Director, you will play a central role in ensuring efficiency, scalability, and excellence across all operational functions. You will lead a sizable team of regional and store-level managers, logistics, and supply chain professionals to ensure seamless execution of the company's strategy, contributing directly to profitability and customer satisfaction.

Scope of duties:

• Lead the development and execution of the company's retail operations strategy across all channels and locations in Poland.
• Ensure efficient and cost-effective operations in stores, warehouses, and distribution centers, optimizing processes, people, and performance.
• Oversee supply chain management, including demand forecasting, inventory planning, and last-mile delivery excellence.
• Implement and monitor best-in-class standards for customer service, store performance, visual merchandising, and in-store execution.
• Drive process automation and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant methodologies.
• Collaborate closely with commercial, finance, marketing, and HR teams to ensure seamless cross-functional execution.
• Manage and develop a high-performing team, building leadership capabilities and driving accountability at every level.
• Establish operational KPIs and ensure achievement of targets related to efficiency, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure legal compliance, health & safety standards, and sustainability practices are embedded in operations.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in operations leadership within Retail, FMCG, or related sectors.
• Proven experience in managing multi-site retail operations and end-to-end supply chain processes.
• Strong track record of driving operational efficiency, cost control, and service level improvements.
• Deep understanding of retail logistics, fulfillment, inventory, and store execution dynamics.
• Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving, execution, and decision-making abilities.
• Natural leader with strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Comfortable in matrix and international environments, able to influence at all levels.
• Fluent in English.
