In our diverse global team, we cherish different perspectives and uphold values of safety, environment, and well-being.We are searching for an enthusiastic Senior Tool Operator to join our skilled Workshop team in Gdansk, Poland.What will you be doing?As a Senior Tool Operator in our Workshop, your duties will involve general machining of engine components and operating various machines, such as lathes and milling machines.
  • Maintaining and managing the tool machine efficiently to meet job completion deadlines.
  • Handling portable machine tools.
  • Assisting the workshop team in inspecting engine components if required.
  • Executing all tasks delegated by the Foreman/Team Leader.
  • Ensuring high-quality work, accurate documentation, and adherence to work procedures.
  • Performing consistent quality control and showcasing strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Upholding the quality and efficiency of mechanical work in line with manufacturers' specifications and ISO procedures.
  • Following best mechanical practices to preserve the shop and tool machines.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction through positive interactions and job performance.
  • Complying with all Wärtsilä regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions, and Polish labor laws.
  • Adhering to all safety regulations and using appropriate safety gear.
The following attributes will contribute to your success in this role:
  • Background in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5-8 years of experience as a machinist/tool operator, preferably in the marine industry.
  • Proficiency in general machining of engine components and operating machines like lathes and milling machines.
  • Native Polish language proficiency.
  • Basic understanding of English is advantageous.
  • Openness to learning and being receptive to guidance.
  • Willingness to travel 2-3 times a year for 1-2 weeks per trip.
  • Capability to work well under pressure and flexibility for overtime and weekend shifts if necessary.
